programme notifier turning orange

On the bottom of the screen is the blue bar showing what programmes are running. These have started turning orange from time to time - now I assume that's to attract my attention but can't figure out why. Anyone care to enlighten me please?

which broweser are you using? i presume you are talking about a computer rather than a tv?
