I was wrongly charged with GBH and after a 5 day trial a jury cleared me in just over an hour. Basically a number of security guards told lies after one of them sustaned an injury 15 days after the alledged assault. I was initially charged wwith common assault but this was increased to GBH after the security guards injuries got alot worse. Basically, my life was made a misery for 9 months based on lies and witness's wh were all work colleagues. The lies were exposed in court and I was acquitted. My question is this: Can I sue the ground that these security guards work for, for putting me through this misery based on lies. I have been cleared and all my legal fees will be reimbursed but I am not happy with the behaviour of the very people that should be protecting the public. I believe they should not get away scott free. Any advice is appreciated.

rukhsar123,

Your post reads as if there was an incident resulting in an offence of common assault but you were found not guilty of GBH. Was there an alternative charge of common assault at the trial and did the Judge comment on the reliabilty of witness evidence?.

Anyway, direct your question to the legal firm that represented you at trial who will be able to advise you correctly etc.
you want to sue the ground?

Hi. There was no alternative charge of common assault. The judge did not comment on the reliability of witness evidence. I was simply charged with GBH and found not guilty.
