Repairs to a digital camera...

I have a Kodak 'Easyshare' camera which seems to have died. Is it worth trying to get it repaired or should I look for a new one?

I would say it would definitely be cheaper to buy a new one.

Depending on what you need it for, you can get one for about £46.

Nope. Cameras with a much higher spec now seem to be available for about £70. I'd guess that it would cost a good part of that to get the old one repaired.

It would cost a good part of that to get somebody to look at it, let alone repair it!

Probably not worth repairing unless it's new or nearly new. Kodak does good film but their cameras have never been more than so-so. Treat yourself to one of the huge range of inexpensive compacts on the market.

A new one it is , then. It's just for snaps, so doesn't need bells + whistles.

Have a look at Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and Sony. They're all quality manufacturers and have everything in their ranges from a few quid to a few thousand.

As ex Kodak technicalsupport/training manager, I disagree that the cameras were so so. They had some excellent models and features. What I want to say though is that their customer support is brilliant.
Go to the website and customer support and get talking to the helpline by email or phone. You will be pleasantly surprised at what might happen....
