Every now and again some of my desktop icons will only open showing a minimised view, not full sreen. I know that it's just a niggle, but I would appreciate any advice to solve the problem.

If you right click and select properties, what isthe "Run:" box set to ?

It's this "every now and again" that throws me though. Maybe it is a resource problem, and occassionally it tries to minimse what it needs to open by minimising the view ? Just a thought.

Old Geezer - Done what you said to do - but there does not appear to be anything in properties called "Run". Have also been on several internet sites trying to find a teckie answer, but can't find anything about the problem. As I said, its a niggle!
Does the icon represent an application or 'document' stored on the desktop, or a shortcut to an application ? Shortcut icons tend to have "Run:" boxes.

The shortcuts are to external sites; e.g. Google, BBC News, BBC Travel etc. I've double checked, and I was right, there is no "Run" box. Could it be because its a work pc?
Ah, ok, it'll treat that as a document (a web document) so no, fair comment, it won't have a "Run:" box. Probably barking up the wrong tree anyway.

So I guess it opens your Internet browser (IE ?). Did you close it when it was full screen last time, or when it was minimised ?
