microsoft access - using spaces to index?

i have just started using access and i would like to know wether i can use spaces to index a field. the fiel is company names so it looks better if i don't have to use _ or something similar.

Yes, you can use spaces in indexed fields. What I think you mean is 'can I use spaces in the name of a field?' the answer to which is no.
