Auto-entry of passwords - why is it variable?

I am hoping someone can tell me why some pages on the internet will let me click on and "remember my password", but others won't.
OH doesn't seem to have this problem, his pop up fine - but some do for me and some don't. For instance, my eBay ID and password fills itself in when I pick the drop down ID - but my email account doesn't and nor does my AB sign in - I have to manually type in both ID and password every time. Any clues how to make it all auto, please?

Not possible.
The auto-entry of passwords etc depends on the co-operation of your web-browser (or other software) on your PC, and the software on the web site at the other end.
Some co-operate, some don't.
It's safer and more secure if they don't.

Fair enough vagrant, I can understand that (and it explains why some do and some don't). Thankfully, the ones I have on auto are not sites like banks or similar!!
Not recommended for E-bay or other site that require privacy, but ones like AB should be saved as favourite (bookmarked) when logged in. It will then open again logged in, as long as you use the shortcut to open.

That's it though wildwood, I always come in via my favourites, and I always have to re-enter name and password. I'll try again.

Thanks wildwood, that works now!

It works on eBay but only on my home computer, so I'm not too worried about that but thanks for the tip.
Quite why anyone would have auto complete on a password baffles me.
