can i instal AOL broadband if i do not have administrator rights?

I brought a PC off someone a while ago and now want to instal AOL broadband.  I do not have administrator rights, only a user.  (hummm..best not to ask!).

Can i still instal aol broadband.. (its running win 2000)

restart in safe mode (pressing F2 as soon as you turn your PC on. the u can log on as administrator which is usualy hidden. then install aol broadband.
