I've always found Firefox fine, but I couldn't say it's 'best' without having tried them all.

Thankyou jno,I will wait for a few moe answers before I try one out .

Thankyou for your help much appreciated.
Nobody can say what is the "best" browser, in the same way nobody can say what is the best car, the best football player, the best restaurant.

IE is the most common, only because Microsoft give it away free with Windows.

Of the others Firefox seems to get the best "press".

I suppose it could be said a browser is a browser is a browser as they all show the same web page.

What may make a particular one stand out is the add-ons, and Firefox again seems to have a lot.

Why not try a few - Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera.

They are all free, and you can have as many browsers installed on your machien as you like.
As VHG says, there isn't really a "best". Although some are more universally compatible than others.

I prefer Firefox.

And don't forget, if there was no Firefox, there would have been no IE7 or IE 8. Microsoft only ever produce new versions in response to strong competition.

I like Firefox, because I have the adblock add-on.

Answerbank is so much better and quicker with the adverts blocked.

Try Maxthon, it's so simple to use and hasn't got all the clutter the Big Boys have!

Thankyou dave068,thats a new one at the moment I,m trying Google Chrome, will try that one and Firefox.

Thankyou for your help much appreciated.
The best i find is Firefox as it is far less vulnerable to attacks from those sad people who sit at home all day on there computers making up viruses.
We've just swapped back from Google Chrome to ordinary Google, we couldn't get on with chrome at all well. As VHG says, it depends what you want from your browser.
I did have Firefox version 3.5.70 , but as it was slowing down occasionally I upgraded to
Firefox 3.6 and it's working much better now.
I also have upgraded to IE6 from IE5,and that works fine too.
;-)
I'm also with Firefox.
I use both Safari and Firefox... Safari seems quicker and more stable...
