Attachments are Gobbledegook

For the past wek now when I open attachments that contain architect's drawings, a window pops up saying that are not compatible. When I open them anyway, they are just symbols and numbers. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to rectify this please?

It sounds like you don't ave the right software to open it. You could look on the internet for free software for the file type, or ask them to send it in another format.
