For some odd reason my BT Voyager 2100 stopped working on the laptop. So I plugged in my Tiscali Wireless Router and it works but now my pc upstairs will not pick it up.

The PC upstairs keeps saying "Acquiring network address", has been doing for ages.

The odd thing is: The BT voyager works on the pc upstairs and now not the laptop and the Tiscali router only works on the laptop and not on the pc upstairs.

The laptop has it's own LAN card but the pc upstairs has it's own BT Voyager 1040 card in it.

Can anybody help?????? Thank you.

network security key is wrong (either WEP or WPA)

Check the sticker on the bottom of the tiscali router to see if it has the correct key on it. if it has disconnect from the wireless network and reconnect and enter that key when prompted
have you tried switching off the router/modem wait a while then switch on?

switched it off and on more times than hot dinners.

Where can you type this network key on win xp, it was very easy on vista but my xp machine is a little vague?
look for this icon down by your clock and double click it, it will be somewhere in there, but as its not the standard windows wireless config utility not sure where abouts excatly
OK im going to sound seriously numb here, as im not even sure we're talking about the same thing here...but... on my PC upstairs, I have to type in a password- a 10 digit one, each time I switch the bloody thing on. I do this by clicking the symbol that looks like a K with a X through it on the task bar on the bottom right of the screen.

It then opens up a box and gives me possible options to connect to whichever ISP is available. I click on the right one, tap in the password and off I go.

Apologies if ive totally read your question wrong and im warbling on about something totally unrelated!
it's ok B00, you can warble on all you like, just for today though :)
