powerpoint takes a long time to save

I am a newbie to pp, I find it takes quite a while to save ......as I am working with it I save the new additions to it but it seems to take so long for the project to be ready to accept new input...is this the norm?

Have a look in Tools, Options, Save. Check that "fast saves" is ticked & that it's not embedding objects. GOOD LUCK!
