just been contacted by sky about their free broadband
was wondering whether 2gb per month is any good
it also says you can install it yourself, is this simple?
also how do i install a wireless router to my laptop and how much is it likely to set me back?
is it better to forget the free offer and go with a company such as aol?
can anyone help me with my dilemas please

broadband is simple to install but 2gb is actually quite small. If all you intend to do,however,is surf the internet it will be fine.
You ask if setting up a wireless router is simple.

I recently set up a wireless router under BT for my son who lives away from me.

It came with a really good CD that took you through the process step by step and it worked first time.

If Sky offer the same type of CD then it may be easy.

See if sky offer a wireless router and CD (which I guess they will charge you for).

If not a wireless router may cost about 50, but setting it up may not be that easy if you have never done anything like that before.
I have just installed Sky Broadband, but the Unlimited, not 2gb. You get a wireless router, and an easy to install cd...sort of like an idiots guide..showing how to plug into wall etc. I had a few probs for a couple of days with comp not doing anything, but now it ir running smooth it is great. I also set up wireless network for sons pc...this was harder than sky said it would be...had to get help...but then i might just be thick :-)...would def recommend sky though. Also 2GB has a 40 connection fee..Unlimited is free
If i were you i'd hang off, just had sky broadband put in last week and the connection drops off to nothing quite regularly and i'm a network support tech. its extremely annoying, having to reboot the router all the time.

Plus with regard to your wireless laptop, a sky engineer at my mother in laws had to fit a dongle to a centrino based Dell laptop because he couldn't configure it to work not very good if i'm being honest. i'd fix it but were not talkin so whats new with mother in laws lol
Stay a thousand miles away from sky broadband.
Been trying to cancel mine for 3 months. Thet wont clear line. Server goes down every evening without fail. Stay where you are.
