AVG Urgent help pls

i've just gone online Avg said there was an urgent update available , i downloaded it but the update manager in the control center is still red &the icon in my taskbar is still black & white. advise pls

Some of the AVG updates don't take effect until you re-boot the computer. Theoretically, a window should tell you this and ask if you want to re-start the computer. However, it doesn't always appear.

Just reboot your PC and everything should be fine . . . And that goes for your other question as well!

Thanks ,tried reboot , still the same .says urgent update available but it's already done . icon still b&w update manager still red

Try double-clicking the taskbar icon. Then select Service > Check for Updates.

I've had similar problems in the past. That sometimes works. If not go to the AVG website, download the latest edition of AVG and re-install. (You'll almost certainly be told that you still need to check for updates again but, once you've done this, everything should be back to normal).

Hurray !! re-installed it & ok now.thanks Buenchico. Fri. 13th heh! good job i'm not supertitious!
