Learning Turkish

Does anyone know any interent sites where i can learn turkish for free.

Turkish is a diabolical language to learn, and there's no way you'll learn it on line. There are no decent sites; it's even hard to find good textbooks. I speak as a professional linguist ! Your best bet is to get the BBC's booklet Get By in Turkish with the cassette; then, if you want to go on, Teach Yourself Turkish. There are a few other courses, but they are no good. To tell you how hard it is, I have just learned Norwegian over four months in the winter and can speak it pretty well. I spent nearly a year on Turkish, and never got beyond the basics. The only good news is that the accent is easy to master. But good luck. Do contact me if I can help.
