Correct Procedure

If I have forgot a password, and a new one is requested===i am told that a code is being sent to my inbox.I click onto my E.mail ,get the code,then when i go back to the page that asked for it , i am presented with the page before (which asks for my E mail so they can send a code).what am i not doing right?

Check in the email, for a link you can click on to take you to the Login Screen.

Usually there is a link to reset your password which you then do. Then go to the site afresh and login using the new password.

In the email there should be a link you click - this opens the page to reset your email.
