Most Of The Sites I Access Open Half Way Down The Screen.?

Why is this ? It's no great problem , I can move it up but it's just irritating.
e.g
The strange thing is Google and BBC News Home opens up half way down the screen but Google News and BBC News Mag opens up as full screen. .
e.g
AB ,BBC i PLAYER , Daily Mail and Amazon open half way down but Orange , Yahoo and Co-op open in full screen.

Any suggestions of what the trouble might be ?
