I am looking to do away with using BT as my telephone and broadband provider as I never use my telephone as I use my mobile telephone for incoming and out going calls so my telephone just sites there and I have to pay line rental every month so I am looking for a Broadband provider that does not require a BT line rental. Already checked Virgin but I am not in a area for them, does anyone know of any other provider?
Thanks in advance.

You need a cable company. Or maybe a mobile connection. I think you can get satellite broadband too.

Unsure who is available but there are broadband supplier comparison sites you could try. But I'd suggest that whoever rents you a connection they will price it to profit on the deal, that it is capable of passing voice calls but you don't use it would merely be wrapped in with the deal; not something that providing costs them much on top.
Your only choice is mobile broadband via dongle or mifi. You need to be sure you have very good 3G reception in your house for this to work reliably.

Satellite is very expensive.

3 charge £16 a month for a 24 month contract giving you 15gb data a month.

If you want to connect more than one device at a time you will need mifi. 3 charge £19 a month for 15gb data.

If you switch to talktalk, their phone and unlimited broadband is £18 a month

So you may be better off simply keeping the phone and switching supplier.
