Hi

I have a Virgin Superhub which runs at a constant 60mbps wired and about 40mbps wireless...if my ipad is in the same room as the Superhub.

If I take the ipad about 30ft down the corridor the connection often drops out. There is one wooden door and 30ft of space between the two devices!

Is there a transponder / repeater sort of thing that will stop the dropouts and hopefully maintain the line speed no matter what room I'm in?

I have no idea about Virgin Superhub, but I will say I wanted to extend my WiFi out further into the back garden and went to Maplin and browsed what they had. There were a number of different options for extenders and I bought the cheapest, which seems to work fine, at least with my mobile. Try browsing your local shops to see what they have.
Any repeater will work, such as this one:
