I have acquired a used Blackberry Curve 8520 from ebay & getting on very well with it, I like the layout because the kwerty keyboard is much the same as a computer ( some other 'phones including touchscreen I have found to be difficult). Could I ask one of you techies if it would be easy to get my emails directed to it

Hi Whiskeyron,

I have had Blackberry's for a few years now and I've always got on well with them. Setting up email is easy.

If you go to 'setup' on your phone, you should see 'Email accounts' From there it is pretty self explanatory, it's simply a case of putting in your email address and pushing the emails through :)

No go. Message comes up activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable. Do you think it might be because I am using Orange PAYG in other words no monthly contract ?

WR.
I have a curve 9300 on Orange pay as you go and I get the same message WR. Looked on you tube at the how to access your emails from a current account and some of the icons on the you tube phone weren't on mine! Don't know where to go next.
Ron, to get email you need a data plan which most PAYG don't have, hit this prob with my other half's phone, got her a Dolphin pay monthly SIM from Orange, 60 mins calls, 100s of txts (far too many) and half a gig of data for £8 per month with no minimum contract so quit when we want. I imagine other providers have similar.
Some info here on how the Blacberry email service / system operates:

WR,

For further reading, there is some interesting info posted on the site listed below that discusses alternative non-Blackberry solutions for receiving emails on a Blackberry.
