I find it difficult to believe that any form of aircraft would interfere with direct telephone line communications.

Cheers guys, your answers are as expected but still puzzled as to what caused the drop.be interesting to see if it happens again today around 4pm.
dennis... I hope you are still threaded to your question which I feel was worthwhile being asked, because I am still thinking about your problem.

Not being an expert on the subject, I replied with a purely personal opinion. However, I now have the thought that radio waves from any source might interfere with a broadband Router. I say this because when I installed a cable free door bell, I was getting rings without anyone pressing the push button on my front door. Obviously someone else in my area also had a doorbell operating on a similar radio frequency, so I altered the settings on mine.

Perhaps we need to wait a while until you have checked your broadband on the next occasion the Police Helicopter is in your area. In the meanwhile I would be interested to know if your Router is connected to your comp by cable or radio link.

Hi Ron, sorry I'm so late in seeing your interesting reply. My PC is connected by wireless router. The helicopter hasn't been around lately and I'm glad to report that I have had no further connection drops,so maybe there is some substance in your theory.
Dennis
Thanks dennis for having given an up-date on your broadband.

The fact that your router has a wireless link to your comp is making me think more positively that your router's signal was subjected to electromagnetic interference, when the helicopter was overhead.

I would like to see AlBags comment further because he is one of AB's computer experts; whereas my technical knowledge is almost zero.
