My PC keeps just turning off. It has also become really slow all of a sudden.

Could it be a virus.

One of mine does that.

I'll watch out for the answer to this one!
Could be a virus, yes.
Could be overheating.
Could be a faulty component.
I thought mine was overheating.

I have it stood on two books, at the edges, to get more air flow underneath.
One of my work PCs started turning off by itself - turned out to be the power supply.

Do you run antivirus software?

Try cccleaner - this often clears out rubbish on a computer making it faster
My first guess would be overheating too. Try taking the side panels off, maybe directing your desk fan on it. See if it makes a difference. Er, all the fans on the PC are still working aren't they ? Including any on top of the processor ? Sometimes you can get temperature info from the CMOS page, although maybe that's more trouble looking for than it's worth. I'm sure you can download apps that tell you the temperature, but it does depend on them on them knowing the PC and the internal monitoring connections being in.
It may be malware / spyware.

Try downloading the free version of malwarebytes and install it, update it, then run it on a deep scan.

However a PC turning itself off is often overheating. Try taking it outside and blowing all the dust and fluff out of it with a hair drier.

Make sure it is sited where it can get plenty of cool air circulating, and not in an enclosed space.

Thanks. I will try some of these

Mine used to do this due to over-heating. After I regularly used a make-up brush to clean out the fan vents the problem went away.
PcGuy, for a PC guy, you're rubbish at spam.
Even more so now :)

I'd go for overheating first on this one, if not a probable faulty PSU is its a desktop.
