What is the normal time for a scan to run? I don't understand why it takes so long on my computer. Any reasons for this?

It takes longer if you have loads of files. Our big computer used to take ages till we started storing docs on an EHD. That still needs to be scanned but not as often.
thats a little excessive, as wg said you must have had tons of files.
i normally use malwaresbytes, and it takes 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours for a complete scan

I didn't realise I had so many files. Looks like I need to do some deleting.

I've got PC Guard installed which is free with VirginMedia. Seems a bit cr@p but its free!
