Hi zzxxee, i have to crb check all of my staff and recently they have been taking ages!! mostly around 8 weeks. It depends a lot on age and if you've moved a lot in the last few years. Some only take 3-4 weeks one I had to wait nearly 3 months for.

I have it took over 3 months - It came back in June after I applied in February.

i know it takes around 6 weeks as i have had one before.
However a friend of mine has been waiting over 9 weeks for hers to clear, another it took 4 i sent mine off last week im just trying to get some info of recent ones to compare

My last one took about a month and a half (it was "enhanced" btw ).

They quote 6-8 wks but at quiet times, ie not as school terms starts etc they often come back much quicker than that, sorry can`t be more specific, but it really is down to where you are and how many they have to process at the time you apply, the quickest my daughter has had one returned was just under 3 weeks and the longest was about 6 weeks.

As I work in HR I have to send off forms for security checks to a department in London and they take anything from 3 - 6 months.

also depends how recently you've had your last one. I was CRB checked 3 times in as many years. The last one was enhanced and came back in 2 weeks.

I'm sure yours will be done much sooner zz. Not sure of this but it may depend on what job you are doing or whether the checking department get their arse in gear.

I process the checks wherre I work and they are currently about 8 weeks. I believe you are in the Bristol area from some of your posts, as am I, and ours go via the local council as umbrella body for checks in the area. If yours goes thorugh the same route then it should take about the same time?
