Mouse pad on laptop

Can anyone please tell me why the mouse pad on my laptop wont respond on my profile but works fine on the other 3 profiles on it. I am able to use it to move the arrow but not to 'click'. I am useless when it comes to anything computing so would appreciate any help. :-)
