Does anyone know if there is any software out there that I can play movie files (.avi, .wmv, .mpg) through and filter out unwanted frequencies?

Just about every single movie player available has a graphic equaliser built into it.

Thanks guys, but I need to be able to save the changes to the video files. My video editing software doesn't have an equaliser built in and I can't afford to upgrade, that's why I was looking for some free solution. Any ideas?
