cd/dvd player wont play a disc with pdf files on it

I got a car manual disc which says instructions on PDF. My comp doesn't read it. It just tells me to enter disc. This disc opens on my neighbours comp and I know my cd/dvd player works as I can play a movie on it. Whats my problem?

i think you have to have adobe reader on your comp (free download)

You mean it doesn't read the disc? ... or the file?
If the file, answer as above. Just install Adobe Reader, that's all.
If the disc, you may have an old drive that cannot open a multi-session disc, or one that is in a late type format. Only a newer drive will fix that.

I have adobe reader, do I also need adobe acrobat

Go download the free foxit pdf reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/

it is much quicker than adobe, for whatever reason.

You don't need Adobe Acrobat
You don't need Foxit .. It has always been buggy
You just need the free Adobe Reader.
