My screen has gone blank although Keypad is still lit up. Any way I can restore it without going to Service Centre. Any solutions please? Thank You for any replies.

This is usually a software booting problem. There is no trick. Pleanty like this for sale on eBay (keypad back-lights but no boot)
I fixed mine by using aftermarket custom software which seems better than Motorola.
That is throw away or service. Unfortunately you will probably lose what is not on the SIM.

Al,So should I just bin it? is there any way I can detach screen as I have an older V3 phone which is scrap although screen works but casing is broken.
Most models are different. I just use the absolutely original V3 (all metal) and change the software.
Your problem is .. when you remove a V3 screen, you usually damage the printed flex cable (connections to everything) getting it apart/off, which means using new parts ... and it takes ages fiddling about. You "can" get a complete assembled screen/top assy (coloured) ready to fit (seller sometimes on ebay) This is a better bet (saves lots of swearing and losing tiny torx screws!) My tip, if you cannot do in-house, buy another one! : (

Thank you for your help,ALBags.
Check ebay for a seller that sells parts. Look for screen assembly : )
there are many sites online that will show you how to replace the screen. its not that hard it you follow it.

besides what have you got to lose if both phones are unusable? you may as well give it a try eh?
