Thank you for previous answers. I have tried checking USB connection, and mouse does not have battery. Someone mentioned to me a memory problem (computers not mine)! Does that make any sense. I have done clean up and defrag. Also delete cookies and temp files etc regulary. Is there anything else I can try. Also can any recomend using a cordless mouse instead? Thank you in anticipation.

I had similar problem sometime ago and bought a new Mouse with USB instead of previous PS/2 connector and it solved the problem
If it's a trackerball, almost certainly all it needs is a bit of a clean...

Mine starts to stick every few weeks or so, and all I do is open it up and scrape the accumulated drek off the rollers...
I have a Logitec cordless digital mouse which I find very good.
I use 2 rechargeable AA batteries which I replace about every 14 days, mind you, I'm on the comp most days for hours so the batteries last out pretty well considering.
