I have recently acquired a lap top, Toshiba 4010 with windows xp.

I had no anti virus so I downloaded AVG the free one and it won't take on my lap top, saying the systems won't support this.

Does anyone know why this has occured as I have this same anti virus on my main computer with no trouble.

Also I am stuck with an AVG icon on my desktop which I cannot use.

All advice welcomed.

I uninstalled the new version of AVG because of compatibility issues with my Vista and installed Avira Free version instead. I'm happy with it at present. ChuckFickens, VHG, ACthe Troll etc can give you better advice about Computers than I can.
redman has said it all ... if it's a freebie you want ... and avg is complaining uninstall and use avira gets better reviews (for freebies)

download avira . disconnect from internet - uninstall avg - reboot - install avira - connect internet and reboot
