Hi, I've just purchased a 20 Tesco ink cartridge for the hp photosmart 2575 printer. I've inserted the cartridge but now when I switch the printer on all I get is a messgae coming up saying Ink Cartridge Problem - Remove and check colour cartridge. I can't seem to do anything else with the printer when this comes up, can't even press set-up key to clean nozzles etc. Have I got a duff cartridge from Tesco? I don't want to return it if it's something else, any help would be much appreciated, I'm technically challenged at the best of times! Thanks

Was there any strip to be removed covering the connections?
If so have you?

Sorry if that seems obvious but it used to happen quite often at a place I worked!!! lol

Have you used a compatible cartridge before?

I find they don't always work in my HP printer (the last one I tried leaked everywhere) so I now stick to HP's own.

thanks for the help, I bought a cheap refill cartridge off ebay (about a third of the price of the Tesco one) same problem but cleaned the contacts gently with a pencil eraser as suggested on another website. seems to work fine now, will try using the Tesco cartridge when this one runs out. Thanks for your help, I'll take your advice - any more problems I'll stick to the HP cartridges. Cheers!
