Ever since I downloaded Internet Explorer 8 it continually crashes whereby I had no problems at all with IE7. I would revert to IE7 but don't know how to get it back; nor can I uninstall IE8. Does anyone know of this problem please? Is there a patch etc? My operating system is Windows Vista running on a Dell Studio 17. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Is explorer 8 not there if you go to - control panel - programmes & features - view installed updates?
If it is you should be able to remove it from there.
Can`t check myself, as I`ve hidden the update until I hear any good about it.
PS. if it can`t be done that way try restoring your system to just before you downloaded it.
I have IE8 which I obtained through Windows Updates and it has been working well for me so far. The only problem for me so far is that it is not compatible with Hewlett-Packard Smart Web Printing until the HP Technical Dept update this facility.
Did you download IE8 separately from Windows Updates ?
You may have downloaded the Trial version instead and that is why you are having problems. Windows have also released an update for IE8 last week.
Have a look in Control Panel and view installed Programmes to see if IE8 appears there and uninstall it.
Bring all your Windows Updates up to date and you will have the proper version installed then.
Several plugins such as toolbars and other internet security programs are causing problems with IE8.

Unfortunately reverting to IE7 does not always fix the problems.

Uninstall all plugins before the IE8 upgrade and download the latest versions of the plugin installers if you really must have them.
