When switching computer on, no icons appear or start button. Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to rectify it.

Many thanks.

I have XP. I'm not entirely sure, myself, but if you right click on the desktop (screen) you should get a little window up which may lead you to the toolbars. Mine is ticked "Lock Toolbar".

You probably need help from someone else - not me, but it may work!
Last time this happened to me I had a Trojan.

Try ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up task manager

Then Applications > New Task

Type in the box explorer.exe > Ok

and you should be up and running.

Then run your antispyware and see if it detects any nasties.
