music folder keeps changing

ok, i have all my downloaded music in my music folder, which i then have in other folders in year date, when i go into the folder i set my preferences to show name, artist and length ..thats all the info i want, however it seems when i switch the computer off then back on..the info has changed to name, artist, album,genre, rating and #...im on windows vista. anyone know why this is happening. thanks in advance.
