burning from vista basic /home

hello abers , ive checked down lots of threads on the tech , pc tabs , and cant see this as been raised before .

when burning to cdr from vista disc is not read in dvd player or standard hifi .
any ideas as to the problem and how to rectify it...

Also i just bought a lap top never had /used one before how do i lock the qwerty keyboard so it stops jumping up the page when i write. its made me so annoyed as i write alot i have bought a wireless keyboard for home use but not practicle for the out and about reason i bought the lap top.( i have read the user manual no instructions)
