I was looking at this and since IE 6 is installed with XP it is not in add/remove programs and therefore you can't add/remove/repair it. I suggest you reinstall it by downloading the SP-1 version from Microsoft ( see http://www.microsoft.com/dow nloads/details.aspx?********=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b6 02228de6&displaylang=en  ) If it has asterixes then replace them with diylimaf spelt backwards ie family  ID without the spaces. Once you have installed it, it may cure your problems and you will also be able to use the repair option in the add/remove programs.
