You do it like BigDave says, on your earlier post, are you trying to do it on the question page? You need to click the question, then highlight on the answer page.

Tks Trish. I tried to hilite your answer. No success.Sorry.
Which browser are you using? The vast majority of the 'regulars' around here use Firefox (or possibly Chrome). Hardly anyone uses Internet Explorer.

As far as I recall (because I've been using Firefox for years), Internet Explorer doesn't allow you to highlight text on an AB page. (Highlighting in a browser, when it works, is done exactly the same way as it is in Word, or similar. i.e. you hold down the left mouse button while dragging across the required text. However, trying to do that in Internet Explorer only results, I think, in either nothing being highlighted, or a vast amount of unwanted text being selected).

If you're not already using Firefox, switch to it now. It's far more flexible, it actually lets you highlight text properly and, if you install the Adblock Plus add-on, you get rid of all the ads on this page, so that it will load several times faster):

I`m on explorer 7, I can highlight the answer page, but not the question page.

Although I use FireFox, I still need IE for accessing the Government website for VAT and Tax returns etc. and occasional other sites, like the Daily Telegraph Clued-Up site. It's best to have both !!

P.S. Thanks for the Adblock tip - it's in already.
Take the cursor to the beginning of article - hold down left mouse and drag the hilite thru to what you want to copy.

it should hilite blue and hold for you to press ctrl c to copy.

BigDave - you can use a Firefox addon that lets you view IE pages within Firefox

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419

Works very well - right click on a link, or a page, and click 'open in IE tab'
Just downloaded firefox, now I can highlight question page as well.
Thanks Ethel, but it wasn't viewing the pages that gave me problems, it was logging on to the website. I will try it again - I've got an Income Tax Return, Corporation Tax Return and Companies House Registration to do in the next ten days !!
You all seem to be missing the point. FRISKA I assume like me is using IE and the usual "cut and paste" does not work if you want to copy a particular answer. All that happens on trying to highlight is the WHOLE page is highlighted.

I usually manage by left clicking 3 times on the answer, then got to EDIT > COPY and then paste either in the answer box or to word.

I'm sure someone else has explained another method but the old grey cells have let me down.
