Ive tryed for hours to connect the xbox360 to xbox live via a ethernet lead plugged dirrectly into the laptop. The laptop runs on vista home 32bit and has a t-mobile (uk) 3G usb device HUAWEI E220. The dial up connection has been enabled to share in network connections. The xbox 360 trys to connect on test but fails on the first sequence of tests the IP address. Please help, Thank you.

I've answered this in gaming too

is it a normal ethernet cable your using, if so it won't work, you need a crossover cable to connect to devices directly together.
