Wireless mouse installed twice ??

Something strange happened one day as i was browsing the net , all of a sudden i wasn't able to click on some things but able to click on others.
Anyway i eventually found that my cordless mouse was installed twice looking in system / hardware / device manager / mice and other pointing devices .... so i uninstalled one of the links and that put it right .
But every time i reboot the PC the problem returns and the mouse is installed twice again !
How do i fix this problem permanent because i'm having to uninstall one line every time ?
