My inbox says there is one unopened email in my inbox, but I cannot find it. How can I track it down?

It could be that the email has a very old date on it - so instead of just looking at the latest messages in your inbox, go through all of them and see if it's down among the older messages.
or look throught the cr@p flap
(hem - junk mail)

I am on Yahoo bt internet , BT broadband. Is that enough info?
are you checking it on Outlook or the Yahoo website?
Question Author
Yahoo
wooooo hoooo - does that mean it's fixed??????
Question Author
No - still showing 1 unopened email.
sorry - weak joke - you said yahoo - I said .........
forget it

how many messages in your inbox/folders?
Question Author
I knew it was meant to be a joke - but not worth paying much attention to! I have hundreds of emails that have been read, just the one showing in brackets as being un-read.
Goto to the search feature and set the search to search were To, Cc, Bcc: contains.

in the search field just put a single full stop

select search only unread mails

Run the search

Wow - burn - what does that mean? You wonder if I did what??? I havent got an unread option - at least I cannot see one. Why did you use the word yahoo with question mark?
lyn

HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR PILLS????

>>>I knew it was meant to be a joke - but not worth
>>>paying much attention to!
I took it as bit of a slap - commonly referred to as a burn

>>>Goto to the search feature
means go to the search feature ... it's pretty easy to spot..... it's labeled "search"

>>>>Am I living in another universe?
sounds like possibly you are

>>>> why cant I understand anything said on this thread ?
dunno - I'm too polite to voice my suspicion

>>>> just put a single full stop
sounds like a good idea - lets do just that

go lie down love ... then go out and buy some stamps ......

we are obviously not talking about yahoo e-mail .... or at least not the version it seems both chuck and I use

Gosh - I wish I was as clever as you - you must be really intellegent - please forgive me for being so stupid. Next time I have a query, i will ask a friend, not the clever folk of Answerbank. How do you get through the door when you want to leave the house? Your head must be black and blue.
AC & Chuck... I have created a Yahoo mail address, just to help Lyn out ....

I can see a *search* box up top right, but can see no way of just searching for a full stop that gives a meaningful answer !
I have just spotted a search box (it's not called a search box, but it does have a magnifying glass nearby) on the top left hand side of the screen. I typed in a full stop and clicked on *go* and got a message telling me that, "Sorry. Yahoo! Mail does not currently support searching on punctuation characters only."...... doh !

Thanks Juggerling - I had tried various things based on what I could understand from the offers of help, but had no luck. I felt really angry at the condescending tone used by the previous poster - so unnecessary on a site like this - luckily someone has given me some help at home and my problem has been corrected. Thanks for trying - you are a nice person!
No problem, glad you got it sorted out.. I was slightly baffled by the answers given too, which is why I was trying to replicate the problem in order to assist.

I have other news for you if you wish to pm me - this username followed by the usual @ and then the aol.com bit, nothing to do with techie stuff though !
