Hello I have about 500 photos on my PC (Picasa) could i easily save these and more later onto a memory stick/card which is the best and easiest. Suggestions on size and brand would be helpful. I don't really want to put them on a CD Thanks in advance. From the original thick short plank.

A 2GB FLASH MEMORY STICK PEN DRIVE should be plenty, it will store about 2400 photo`s they are available everywhere for about 5 try Ebay, Curry`s, Comet, Argos etc
Most have lifetime guarantees
guaranteed for life - not quite that impressive when you think the life of flash memory is 5-7 years.
Flash stores using electricery - and eventually the capacitors discharge and the key "forgets"
(there are keys that are more long term - but they are rigiculously expensive at the moment)

memory sticks are good for short term storage or for shifting files between machines

the trouble is - if you pull one out at the wrong time - you loose the lot.

far better to burn a CD or DVD and keep the files that way (2 copies is best)

then then collect another 500 - and do it again.

you can use a USB HDD almost as effectively - but only if it's formatted with NTFS (more chance of recovery if something does go wrong).

if you do it right - DVD has the added advantage of working on a dvd player as well - so you can show your granny

and knowledge of you guys
Again all i wanted to know.
AC is very informed but not very good at spelling, ie: `electricery` and `rigculously`........sorry AC. We all make em!
Think you'll find it's a typing error, not bad spelling!
U could upload all your photos to a website, where they'll always be available to u anywhere.
