What legal rights have executors got over personal letters and photographs of the person deceased???

The entirety of the deceased's estate, including personal possessions vests in the executors for them to deal with. However, they have no beneficial interest in the estate as executors and must therefore deliver up the personal possessions either to the legatee to whom they are left or if this is not specified, to the residuary beneficiaries. They cannot keep them for their own purposes.
