Hi everybody - this past two days my computer MONITOR is flickering - it is about 3 years old - is it on its way out. How much is a new one. thanks for any replies

3 years is a rather short life for a monitor. Most keep going three times as long.

Is it not possible for your graphics (card) to be at fault?

Make sure the cable that connects the monitor to the computer is fully inserted at the computer end.

Sometime cables can work lose if the computer is moved a little bit (or if it is not screwed in).
I bought a 19" widescreen monitor last year off EBAY for �119.00.It has a 2ms response time and i'm very happy with it.The maker is MIRAI if thats any help.
