In 'Program Files' there are folders such as Wanadoo and AOL 9.

I don't use these ISPs and never will.

Can I just delete these folders?

You probably can, but the space you will save is probably very small so it is not worth the effort.

Are you trying to make more space on your hard drive?

Is so there are other things you can probably delete that will save you much more space.

No, actually I have loads of space.

It is just that I did a Norton virus check which took forever, and I saw file names flash up as they were checked which I knew were unnecessary.

stick with the more conservative defauly options (but do include the hotfix uninstaller) - run monthly .... don't be tempted to break any records

lots of little files will cripple a system just as surely as space eaters ....
