Why does this happen in You Tube?

When playing a video in You Tube, it regularly keeps pausing then resuming. It's really annoying. Does anyone know why it happens and how to prevent it? Thanks.

Your computer has played all of the video it has managed to download and pauses while it loads some more. This can happend on videos that haven't been compressed for the internet properly.

You can see how much of the video has been loaded by the fainter red line that crawls along the bottom of each video.
