Zone Alarm Update Errors

Any one else had problems with recent updates for the Zone Alarm firewall free edition.

A few days ago I downloaded updates and a few hours later the pc rebooted when browsing. It did it again yesterday and then again today at which point despite appearing to load the operating system nothing would work. Event viewer gave Event Id 1003 serious system error and when rebooting check disc came up with IE5 errors.

I have now rolled back system restore and all is working ok.

Any similar experiences, and any idea what is the cause.
