For a family party I want to do a "name that tune" game. You used to be able to do this on tape but how do you do it on to a CD?

Am assuming you want to have the tracks as mp3.

If you use a sound editor like Audacity you can copy and save the intro to a file that you can then burn onto CD. Audacity is free software.

Check whether your HiFi or DVD player plays mp3. If not, you should be able to play the CD on a computer.
I do this for quizzes.Best way for me is the windows sound recorder, very controllable, then burn to cd.
U can buy a tv themes set of cd's. There are about 8 in total and u can probably pick them up off ebay rather than ar5ing about doing it yourself.

They cover tv shows, films, adverts, kids shows etc

Found this one on amazon for 8 quid it aint worth doing it yourself...
