I am unable to uninstall my current adobe reader 6 or install the newer adobe reader 8 , i get error messages saying 'the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-rom'

The installation package cannot be found is another error message , i am baffled as to what i may have done for this to happen.

Any help appreciated

Thanks in advance

forget adobe ....

unless you specifically need adobe for plugins to read copyright protected documents

foxit does a brilliant job ... loads quickly
acrobat reader = 100000Mb
foxit = 2.1Mb

and doesn't need installing ...

to answer your question you've deleted the original files used to install - maddeningly ... you also need the files to un install
the easiest way is to
if you have the files on cd ... reinstall - then uninstall
if not
downoad version 6 again ..

install - uninstall
