First download the attachement (if you're in Outlook, right-click and save as... I think).

Then you should be able to double-click the document to get it to open, and it'll ask for the password.

What type of document is it?

Its a HTML document in wordpad. But it seems to download , wordpad opens then I get two error messages and wordpad closes before I get chance to do anything and I`m not asked to enter the password at any stage! Frustrating
Hmm... a HTML document can't really be password protected.

Try opening it in internet explorer or firefox, whatever you use as a web browser.
