DVD Recorders - couple of questions

(1) If a DVD Recorder has a built in hard drive, is it possible to record from it onto either VHS or DVD to save it elsewhere? If yes, then how?
(2) If you have both a video recorder and a DVD recorder in which order should they be connected up for optimum results?

My hard drive dvd recorder has an archive feature that burns to dvd disk which is incredibly quick - less than 10 minutes for a film.

If yours doesn't have this feature, you will be able to record to video or dvd by programming the recorder to record AV1, AV2, EXT 2 or EXT1 as the channel depending on how you have set it all up.
