Remove AOL

How can I completely remove AOL from my computer? I have tried the usual way of 'add/remove programs' then I click on 'Aol Uninstaller' it then asks you to choose which AOL program I want to remove however it only shows 'AOL spyware protection' wheras I want to remove 'AOL 9.0'.

Any help appreciated.

AOL has presented a major threat to PCs for many years. Thousands of people have ended up having to reformat their drive and re-install Windows after failed attempts to get rid of the stuff. (About ten years ago, I foolishly put some of their trial software on my PC. When the trial ran out, I found out that my PC wouldn't connect to my other ISP. The other ISP's support line helped me solve the problem but they said that nearly 90% of all their calls were about the same problem. Since then, successive versions of AOL software have got progressively worse at messing up people's PCs).

Fortunately, there does seem to be a solution to getting rid of AOL 9.0. Apparently CCleaner (which is a free download) will do the job. See here:
